Are these guitars for sale?
No, they are not for sale. On the other hand, I have said yes to ridiculous offers in the past.
I want a custom guitar, what do I do?
With a brand like Fender you need to talk to an authorized dealer to make that happen. They are more than qualified to guide you through the process. I suggest going somewhere local. Personally, I use the Music Zoo because they're in NY and I've been dealing with them for years.
If you're looking for design advice, here are some basics:
1) Try out guitars and write down the specs you like. Make sure you wrote the right information down.
2) Look at photos/specs. of other custom shop guitars to see what they can do
3) Dial in the specs. Don't overload the build with a lot of unusual things. I normally I use a theme to keep it focused. If it doesn't fit the theme, it needs to go.
How much does a custom guitar cost?
Expensive, but It really depends on what you want and who's building it. Also, prices seem to change pretty often (trending upward). Figure out what you want, get it priced out, and if you don't want to pay that much you don't have to order it.
How many guitars do you own?
Click the collections page and start counting. I try not to count because I'll get weird about it and start selling stuff. I made this website to show off the collection and help me keep track of all this stuff.
Do you have favorites?
Absolutley. The Snowburst Strat is my favorite guitar and the Rickenbacker 4003 is my favorite bass. We really nailed my preferences down on the Snowburst, so every custom guitar after it has been different combinations of other stuff I like.
Do you write your own music?
Nope. Never have.
Have you ever sold any of your guitars?
Yea, a whole bunch. I have a few old shots of them on this page, but there are a few more that were sold before camera phones.
