LOCOBOY
SOPRANO UKULELE
SPECS.
- Soprano Uke
- Engineered wood body
- Mahogany neck
BACKSTORY
I paid $60 for this thing at a tourist Ukulele shop in Honolulu when I was 15. I must have tried every single uke in the shop until I went with this one. It had brightness and that percussive "plunk" sound that I was looking for. It's a toy, but toys are fun.
One of my friends bought something from an ABC Store that came with the red lei decal and we slapped it on the front. I went back to the uke shop for free lessons for a few days and I had the salesman/instructor Todd sign the back on the last day. Like many other cheap ukes, the bridge snapped out years later. Luckily it was a clean break and I just threw some crazy glue in there. It still sounds better than most ukes found in the big stores.
