BACKSTORY
Purchased new at Manny's Music. It's a 2008 which means the store was under the ownership of Sam Ash, but hell, the sign said Manny's! I wanted my own white Les Paul Custom like Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde, gracefully yellowing with time. It's a damn shame that I still can't play like either of them.
I saw Les Paul at the Iridium late in 2007 (with Steve Miller as a walkup) and found out he did autographs after his second show. I had to come prepared next time. I went to second show on 7/7/2008 and brought the Certificate of Authenticity booklet for him to sign. He happily signed it and took a photo with me. I always thought the simple script logo on Les Paul headstocks was just a logo but it was his actual signature. He kept playing weekly gigs (2 shows every Monday) until he passed away at the age of 94 just over a year later.
