BACKSTORY
My last apartment had a nice music room with a Gretsch Cocktail kit in it. It was so loud that the neighbors two houses down could hear me. I decided on this kit when I moved because the price was finally right for the features. Double mesh heads on all the drums, more responsive triggers, and the ability to expand. I was a little hesitant to get the cheaper TD-1 computer because I can't make my own kit or have access to a larger library, but it is more than what I need.
I set it up with a dedicated pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones and an active eq that I use as a volume booster. I usually plug in my phone and jam along to Apple Music. If I have a real drummer over, there's another wire hanging that connects the output to a Electro Voice ZLX. There is also a great selection of sticks and a cowbell if someone needs to really explore the space.
